AED regulations in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

Across the CC de la Vallée de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, the GéoDAE database lists 26 registered defibrillators in Chamonix. Since 2020-2021, French regulations have required a DAE in French public-access buildings (ERP) of categories 1 to 4, and in certain category 5 ERP depending on their activity: tourist accommodation, halls and sports facilities are on the front line. Registration on the national GéoDAE database is mandatory, a prerequisite for the emergency services and bystanders to locate the device in a mountain area where help can take a long time to arrive.
